58 record haul from 3100 mile race

Following detailed analysis of all my splits from the Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence 3100 Mile race in New York I can announce that I am claiming 58 new records at Overall GB and Scottish level and World, GB and Scottish M60 level.

I’m indebted to race director Sahishnu Szczesiul for ploughing through hundreds of lap sheets, both current and from years gone by, to confirm my records. Also to Andy Milroy for advice and additional back ground information.

My splits from the race make interesting reading:

1st 1000 miles: 17d 12h 15m 24s
2nd 1000 miles 16d 04h 28m 31s
3rd 1000 miles 15d 09h 07m 20s!

1st half: 2500k: 27d 01h 21m 21s
2nd half: 5000km: 23d 16h 17m 42s
2nd half was 3 days 9h 03m 39s faster than the 1st half!

Ironically my 3rd 1000 mile split was faster than the current M60 World Record but I can’t claim it, as it has to be the first 1000 miles from the start in order to count for record purposes.

A break down of all records claimed will go on to my Project165.com page in due course.

This will take my overall total number of records to 155 – just 10 short of my current target of 165 which I aim to achieve before my 65th birthday in 4 years time.
