March 3-4 2001: IAU Asian Cup Soochow 24hr Track Championships, Taipei, Taiwan.
RESULT: 5th with 188.6km/117.2M. Repeated bouts of hypothermia during the night robbed me of a better performance. Nevertheless a good start and an excellent finish in the race raises my hopes for future, better performances.

April 28th: George Littlewood 6hr Track Race, Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield.
RESULT: 3rd with 47.23 miles/76.00kms. Excellent, even paced run passing 24.2 miles in 3hrs and holding pace to end.

May 25-26th: IAU European 24hr Road Running Championships, Apeldoorn, Holland.
RESULT: 23rd man with 200.599kms/124.65M. Ran well and steadily until about 19hrs when a leg injury (caused by the continual left hand bends) reduced me to a walk until the end. Was on track for 5th-10th place.

August 4th/5th: Boston Games 12Hr Track Race, Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield.
RESULT: WINNER with Personal Best distance of 87.92M/141.501kms. Ran a negative split for the first time. The best I have ever felt in an ultra due to a combination of a) altered training b) improved feeding strategy and c) new mental strategy.

March 12th - 27th 2002: Overseas training (Majorca).
