Short Circuit!

A 30 mile route which can be lengthened or shortened as required. Useful for a shakedown ride on arrival, or a final ride if the weather makes the lighthouse ride too risky, or if speed training over a short distance is required.

Take main road, C712, south from Port d’Alcudia. At big traffic island just before Can Picafort turn right, and keep right towards Sa Pobla; there turn right following signs for Pollensa. Cross main road to Palma, C713, with care! Follow over “the bumps”, using cycle path at edge, to Pollensa. Either turn right at sign for Alcudia to complete the circuit, or turn left (care) into Pollensa and make for café stop at restored old square (difficult to find in one-way system, but worth it), and maybe look for the famous Calvary steps (see Lluc Monastery route).

If time is not an issue, a 3rd option is to continue to next junction on right, at minor X rds, to use the “Garden Road” to visit Puerto Pollensa. The “Stay Restaurant” at the harbour is a good place to catch the late sun, else Tolo’s Bar (see the Lighthouse route), or the pedestrianised promenade east of the roundabout with it’s delightful ambiance and pavement tables.
